EdTech 2007
ILTA, The Irish Learning Technology Association presented EdTech 2007, the Eighth Annual Irish Educational Technology Users' Conference at the Dublin Institute of Technology (Bolton Street Campus) from 23rd - 25th May, 2007.

Keynote Speakers
	Dr. Jon Dron is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Computing, Mathematical and Information Sciences at the University of Brighton. His main research interest is network-based learning and he is co-leader of a Postgraduate Certificate in E–Learning Design. He has been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship. For nearly ten years he has been building, and published extensively on the subject of, social technologies for learning. He is the author of the book "Control and Constraint in E–Learning: Choosing When to Choose", which provides a theoretical basis for the design and use of social and Web 2.0 technologies in learning and teaching. According to Terry Anderson, it is "a major contribution to our understanding of learning in the networked era."
	Dr. David Nicol is Deputy Director and Head of Research and Development in E–Learning within the Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Enhancement (CAPLE) at the University of Strathclyde. He is Director of the Re–Engineering Assessment Practice (REAP) project one of six projects funded by the Scottish Funding Council (£1m) as part of its E–Learning Transformation Initiative. This project is investigating ways of improving assessment practices supported by technology across three Scottish HE institutions – Strathclyde, Glasgow University and Glasgow Caledonian University. David has published in the areas of assessment, digital repositories, shared workspaces, electronic voting systems and the social dimensions of e–learning.
	Dr. Rhona Sharpe is based at the Oxford Centre for Staff and Learning Development at Oxford Brookes where she is Principal Lecturer in Educational Development. In recent years she has been funded by the Higher Education Academy and the JISC to investigate and review learners experiences of learning in a technology rich environment. Her recent projects include directing the support and synthesis project for the JISC learner experience programme, evaluating the use of e–portfolios for the myWorld project and reviewing the undergraduate experience of blended learning for the HEA. She co-edited "Rethinking Pedagogy for a Digital Age: designing and delivering e-learning" with Helen Beetham.
	Prof. Mike Sharples is Professor of Learning Sciences and Director of the Learning Sciences Research Institute at the University of Nottingham. He has an international reputation for research in the design of learning technologies. He inaugurated the mLearn conference series and is Deputy Scientific Manager of the Kaleidoscope European 6th Framework Network of Excellence in Technology Enhanced Learning. His current projects include MyArtSpace for mobile learning in museums and the L–Mo project with Sharp Laboratories of Europe to develop handheld technologies for language learning. He is author of 160 publications in the areas of interactive systems design, artificial intelligence and educational technology.
